Mid Length Performance Hybrid
The Wombat MKII is a wave catching machine combined with manoeuvrability. Based on the 1970’s design principles of Australian surfing legends Michael Peterson and Wayne Lynch but with a modern twist. The curve and rocker creates dynamic tight turning and vertical manoeuvres. The nose and tail give the board a less bulky feel that suits all surfers.
The Wombat MKIIworks in a wide variety of wave conditions ranging from 1- 6 foot. Regardless of whether the waves are full and slow or hollow and fast the Wombat works incredibly as a classic funboard outline with forgiving rails allowing for smooth turns.
The Wombat MKII can be ridden as either a 1+2 fin setup or as straight single fin depending on your preference. Many surfers like the 1+2 fins in bigger hollower waves. The fin box set allows you to surf the board with either desired fin configuration.
Round Tail Twin Fin
The Quokka is a performance egg twin fin. A quite deep single concave through to a double concave between the fins, a wide round outline for the size of the board makes the Quokka extraordinarily fast and incredibly manoeuvrable. The round tail smooths the turning out and the wide outline makes catching waves easy. This board will work for surfers of any ability.
Combining the flat rocker with a straight twin fin setup the board is a recipe for speed. With a large amount of rail and floatation the board is great for intermediate to advanced surfers and is an incredible wave catching board. The shape works very well from 1 foot waves right through to (surprisingly) powerful 6 foot surf. Let’s hear from the Quokka designer Beau Young:
“At the time of creating this board Beau had become stale on surfing and was really looking for something different. In the past the 1970's style keel fin fish had always been what Beau believed to be the fastest surfboard in a straight line. The Quokka blew his mind with its speed hold and constant momentum. Beau says this is the fastest board he has ever ridden. The Quokka as they used to say about lovers of Rock and Roll in the early 60's is a real gone rocker... once you're hooked on the Quokka you are hooked for life.”
