A bunch of what people say about us.

“Working with Varuna has been such a pleasure. By using their sustainable materials and their sustainable manufacturing process I feel like I’m now part of this family where we’re all part of the solution.” Maurice Cole

“6'4 Maurice Cole Twin Pin: I rode this 6’4 in pretty solid 6 foot surf and for me to ride a 6’4 in waves that big is a bit of a gamble because it’s a pretty small board for me to ride and especially a twin fin. Surprisingly enough the board held in really well and it felt really drivey and springy. One of the other key things I did find about the board, and I don’t think I would have gotten this out of the PU, was this certain sort of energy that the board has in different parts of the wave. It’s hard to explain, it’s like the board springs or thrusts through certain stages where I’ve never felt that in other boards before.” Brenden ‘Margo’ Margieson

“Riding a Varuna surfboard and taking it into nature takes you closer to the natural aspect of surfing. It’s about having a positive impact and sharing that experience with others so that they may make that choice when they go to buy a surfboard.” Joel Fitzgerald

“What sparked my interest in Varuna was their Seed to Surf story and helping the communities in Indonesia and then coming out with an eco friendly product which I haven’t done before.” Stuart D’Arcy

“6’8 D’Arcy Mid Length Magic: If you want to just cruise, drive off the bottom, drive through your cuttys and slow your surfing down a little bit I think this board is perfect for that.” Brenden ‘Margo’ Margieson

“5’4 UWL Heritage Twin: Like the best twin fin I ever rode. It’s fast, drivey and snappy.  Awesome board!” Andy Burke

“My first impression of the Varuna Quokka was this board translates to me as exactly the same as a regular foam and fibreglass surfboard, which floored me.” Beau Young

“6’10 Joel Fitzgerald Cosmic Twin: I got to surf it in solid 6 foot conditions and I got to surf it 1 to 2 foot. My first impression was that this is a gun, a big wave board but surfing it, it actually felt better when it was smaller. It’s a beautiful looking board and it feels exactly like a PU board. I can’t believe the similarities.” Brenden ‘Margo’ Margieson

" Riding a bunch of different shapes and sizes in the Varuna technology. I’m really impressed on how they performed on both waves of consequences and on the funner softer days. The alternative construction holds up a lot better than the average PU construction which is pretty rad. It’s cool to ride a board that feel like it would last a lifetime & not have to worry about pressure dinging or snapping. " Kayu Vianna

“As an environmentalist I’ve always struggled with the ‘dark side’ of my surfcraft. The moment I picked up the Varuna I felt like my dreams had been answered… a board that performed, was built to last and strived for a minimum impact. I want more people to feel that stoke and to reduce the impact of the industry. The world needs more Varunas.” Tim Silverwood (environmentalist)

“ An open rebellion to the tastes of the majority. Making it faster and cheaper, is definitely not in the Varuna vocabulary. It takes forty man hours to produce one surfboard and is highly worth the wait and price. With models from a handful of the world’s best shapers. You will definitely find the vibe you are after  along the sustainably conscious road “ Jared Mell
